The Melbourne-Osaka race also traveled north through Australia, and the temperatures had warmed up considerably.
The evening before yesterday, after seeing four rainbows at once and running alongside dolphins and other exciting scenery, I spent an unsettled night near an undersea volcano in the middle of the night, when the wind became unstable and we were stuck, then suddenly gusting out.
The rice was made with canned tomatoes and the soup was made with lots of potatoes, carrots, onions and Chinese cabbage. It was very delicious.
Yesterday was a relatively quiet day. The current was against us so we didn't make much progress, but JAZZ did her best. The heel is tight, so it's uncomfortable to be on board a racing boat with no living space. And on board we get wet from seawater spray.
My partner, Micchan, changed the soup from the previous day to curry flavor, which was surprisingly delicious and warmed me up. A luxury during the race.
Today was a day spent facing the rudder. Every day I was exposed to different sea conditions. It was a day that reminded me to cherish this environment that can only be experienced by coming to the open sea, and to use it as an opportunity for my own growth. This is what I want to do, what I want to be able to do, and I want to enjoy being here now.
